How Can a Painful Blister On The Foot Be Treated?

My son used dettol to soak his big toe nail that has a fungus. He has done it now for about a week. Last night after doing it he said it burnt so we washed his foot and put some Lanacane, and seemed to help. Today he has a blister. Is it from the dettol? And does that actually help treat nail fungus?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The symptoms of your son seem to be related to a fungus infection.

Some advice that I can give to you is:
- Use antifungal cream.
- Give antifungal oral medication such as Fluconazole. You should consult your doctor about the treatment.
- Wash and dry frequently the area.
- Use cotton socks.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi,
